Yes, Wi-Fi is required. A smartphone is only needed once for initial setup. After that, the device works fully on its own.

No. It is designed to be a permanent companion and must remain plugged into a wall outlet so it's always available and reliable.
Yes. You can start a conversation by saying "Alright Ato." Families can enable or disable the wake word anytime through the Family App.
Ato does not detect falls. However, a user can use the wake word to say, "Alright Ato, I fell" or "Alright Ato, help." Ato will then attempt to notify the saved contacts in the Family App while staying present to offer conversation and reassurance.
Please note that Ato is not an emergency service, and all notifications and messages are subject to connectivity.
Ato is voice-first, making it ideal for people with visual impairments. For hearing loss, the volume can be adjusted by voice or through the Family App.
It can read Bible passages and search for information online. Audiobooks are not supported yet.
It is designed to hear clearly from up to about 10 feet (3 meters) in a standard room.

Yes. Conversations and personal interactions are encrypted and protected using high-standard security practices. Family members can manage reminders and settings through the Family App, but they cannot listen to private conversations or access personal interactions between the device and the user.
